From September 10 to 14, 2025, the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), co-hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, was held at the Shougang Park in Beijing. During the achievements release event on the afternoon of the 14th, the China Innovation Finance Institute, which has participated in CIFTIS for three consecutive years, once again released “Global Innovation Finance Series Achievements” to global partners, including the Cross-border Investment & Financing Digital Platform, the White Paper on Chengdu Enterprises Going Global, and the Launch of the Global Advisory Council on Innovation Finance.

Connecting Global Resources and Empowering Chengdu's Industry-Finance Integration
As a key achievement of Chengdu Finance Week, the Cross-Border Investment & Financing Digital Platform made its debut at the inaugural Chengdu Finance Week and has been continuously upgraded since then. The latest achievements of the platform’s Phase II construction were showcased at this launch event, marking a leap in the capability of the Western Financial Center co-built by Chengdu and Chongqing in the field of cross-border financial services.

With international investment promotion and industrial-financial globalization as its core goals, the Cross-Border Investment & Financing Digital Platform breaks down information barriers in cross-border investment and financing through an innovative service system and integrates diverse financial and industrial resources. The first phase of the platform focused on collecting investable projects from countries participating in the “Belt and Road” Initiative, introducing equity investment and service consulting institutions, and connecting and implementing key projects.
The second phase of the Cross-Border Investment & Financing Digital Platform, relying on the Chengdu (Sichuan) Enterprises Going Global Database, has built a comprehensive map of the globalization of enterprises in Chengdu (Sichuan). At present, the platform has initially included nearly 200 outstanding Chengdu-based enterprises going global, covering Chengdu’s five advantageous industries (electronic information, equipment manufacturing, pharmaceutical and health care, new materials, and green food) as well as key industries such as energy and chemicals, and cultural tourism.
The White Paper on Chengdu Enterprises Going Global: A Comprehensive Analysis of the Paths and Models for “Going Global”
Against the backdrop of Chengdu’s efforts to build a western economic center, a western sci-tech innovation center, a western center for international exchanges, and a national advanced manufacturing base, and its continuous promotion of the upgrading of the modern industrial system, the demand for advantageous industries and high-quality enterprises to “go global” has become increasingly urgent. Based on this, CIFI conducted systematic research and formed the White Paper on Chengdu Enterprises Going Global through multi-dimensional methods such as enterprise interviews, questionnaires, and data analysis, which comprehensively presents the experience, achievements, and path exploration of Chengdu enterprises in their globalization.

The white paper consists of nine chapters, focusing on Chengdu’s five advantageous industries (electronic information, equipment manufacturing, pharmaceutical and health care, new materials, and green food) as well as key industries including energy and chemicals, and cultural tourism. Based on systematic research on the development status and industrial layout of the above-mentioned industries, the white paper selects representative key enterprises in each industry to conduct in-depth case studies. It comprehensively sorts out the core competitiveness of key enterprises in the process of going global, covering multiple dimensions such as technological innovation capabilities, industry status, brand advantages, financial strength, and overseas market expansion experience, providing important references for exploring replicable internationalization paths and formulating policies.
the Global Advisory Council on Innovation Finance: Promoting Global Innovation Finance Governance and Services
Witnessed by on-site guests and overseas guests online, CIFI together with the Chengdu Finance Week and global partners, officially launched the global advisory council.

The council is composed of authoritative experts, industry leaders, and scholars from the government, industry, and academia around the world. With their rich professional expertise, extensive influence, and profound international perspective, members of the council will provide forward-looking and practical suggestions and guidance on the development strategy, capacity building, research direction, and implementation of major projects of innovation finance. This will help CIFI and its partners enhance their influence on the international stage and better serve the government, enterprises, and society.
This release not only demonstrated CIFI’s latest progress in cutting-edge financial research, international resource integration, and the innovation of industry-finance cooperation models, but also fully highlighted Chengdu’s increasingly strengthened position and international competitiveness in the landscape of Innovation and finance development. The release event attracted wide attention from domestic and foreign partners as well as professionals in the industry.
Calvin Chenggang Fu, Chairman of CIFI, stated, “Relying on Chengdu’s advantages in open innovation, the Institute will continue to launch iconic and leading research achievements and service models, further deepen the connection and cooperation with global resources, and contribute to the high-level opening up and international cooperation in Chengdu and the western region of China.”
