Recently, the China Innovation Finance Institute and School of Global and Area Studies, Renmin University of China signed a joint memorandum of understanding（MOU）in strategic cooperation to promote multilateral economic cooperation,collaborative research, conference and seminars, international talent cultivation, as well as international initiatives and public welfare.
As one of Renmin University’s first university-level “Innovation Hubs” ，the School of Global and Area Studies, Renmin University of China specializes in research spanning theories and methodologies of area studies, European studies, Eurasian studies, Asia-Pacific studies, Francophone studies, and global politics and economics. Rooted in western China while serving the entire nation and engaging globally, CIFI aims to advance the development of the Western China Financial Centre and enhance Chengdu’s capacity as a financial service center for the Belt and Road Initiative through high-quality research and exchanges in innovation economy, finance, and investment. The two institutions share aligned visions and objectives in international engagement, policy research, and talent development, laying a robust foundation for collaboration.
In late 2024, the “Renmin University of China Middle East Forum: Middle East Security and Development Issues in the World System” co-hosted by the School of Global and Area Studies, Renmin University of China and the Chinese Association for Middle East Studies was held in Beijing. As the secretariat of Chengdu Finance Week, the China Innovation Finance Institute served as a cooperative institution of the forum and supported the successful hosting of the forum. Since then, the two sides have maintained continuous communication. The signing of this MOU is a continuation of the achievements of previous practical cooperation. Taking this as an opportunity, the two parties will further expand the scope of cooperation and jointly promote high-level cooperation in Western China financial opening-up to serve national strategies.
